North Development Unveils Plans for “Sparks” Mural by Johnny Robles at Domus Brickell Park

Visible to the public, the original work of art will be a statement-maker on the ground level of the short-term-rental-friendly project

Domus Brickell Park – the highly anticipated short-term-rental-friendly condominium in Miami’s bustling Brickell neighborhood, set to open in Q1 of next year – will be the site of an original mural by multi-disciplinary artist Johnny Robles.  The announcement was made by the project’s developer, North Development – a joint-venture between Oak Capital by Ricardo Dunin and Edifica, a Peruvian conglomerate focused on development, construction, and fund management with a 20-year track record of success.

Titled “Sparks,” the 55-foot-by-12-foot piece will be visible to the public on the exterior ground level of the under-construction, 12-story 171-unit project, which is located along Southwest Second Ave. in the Brickell Financial District (1611 SW 2nd Avenue).

A rendering of the abstract mural by Miami-born Robles, whose works have been exhibited globally, was unveiled in a sneak preview during Miami Art Week.  At the special brunch event, Robles gave a fireside chat about his South Florida roots, wide-ranging career, and vision for his piece at Domus Brickell Park.  As Robles explained, “Sparks” was inspired by sunlight falling through drops of rain – creating an amalgam of kaleidoscopic colors and geometric shapes.  Each “droplet” in the piece acts as a multi-hued prism, with the sun’s white rays glowing through.

“I found the whole concept to be emblematic of energy,” said Robles.  “We are separate elements that come together to create one unit, much like atoms…much like the communities we live in.  I hope residents and passersby enjoy the symbolism here.”

“We believe in the importance of art and its impact on our communities,” said Ricardo Dunin, founding partner of North Development.  “Showcasing original works like Johnny’s will be a core element of the Domus FLATS brand.”

“We took our time with this mural and our selection of who would be creating it,” Dunin continued.  “Johnny’s works have been connecting with many people in cities around the world.  Even a few years ago in our own Miami International Airport, he created a viral moment with his ‘Gloria Bow’ installation in Concourse E, a hub for international travelers.  We know ‘Sparks’ is going to resonate with residents, neighbors, and visitors alike, and we’re honored to have it be a centerpiece of our project.”

Adding to the significance of the mural’s unveiling, realtors who have sold units at Domus Brickell Park were gifted with framed pieces of a print of “Sparks” – a tribute to their individual efforts that have contributed to the project’s overall success.

“The cut up pieces of ‘Sparks’ are beautiful on their own, yet together, they form a spectacular mural – much like the work that’s being done at Domus Brickell Park,” said Alicia Cervera Lamadrid, Managing Partner and Principal of Cervera Real Estate, the project’s exclusive broker.  “As individuals, the work of these agents is highly respected; but collectively, their efforts form an unstoppable whole.”

Already 60% sold, Domus Brickell Park is the first offering to go vertical within North Development’s Domus FLATS portfolio.  As with its sister project, Domus Brickell Center (1034 SW 2nd Ave., Miami, Fla.), Domus Brickell Center will be rooted in hospitality, offering 24-hour oversight by North Management, a subsidiary of North Development, ensuring top-tier brand standards with a 360-degree, customer-focused approach. Residents will enjoy hotel-style amenities, including a fully activated lobby with food and beverage services, creating an inviting gathering space for guests and locals alike.

Designed by Zyscovich Architects with interiors by Urban Robot Associates, Domus Brickell Park will be comprised of fully-furnished studio, one- and two-bedroom condominium residences – currently ranging from the $600,000’s to $1.2 million.  Additional highlights include nine- to 14-foot ceilings, private balconies, keyless entry smart lock systems, Italkraft cabinetry, Bosch appliances, premium finishes, and in-unit washers and dryers.

The Domus Brickell Park sales gallery is located at 1200 Brickell Avenue on the 18th Floor in Miami.  For more information, visit www.domusbrickellpark.com.
