Lime riders shattered records in Washington, D.C. and around the world in 2024 and Lime is celebrating with a personalized Ride Replay campaign for its riders and its cities, looking back at the year that was with a story of data and milestones. Lime riders took over 5.9 million rides in Washington D.C. this year, spurred to new heights by Lime’s continued investment in its hardware and technology as well as the company’s work to deepen its roots in the city via community partnerships. The District also hit 18.2 million lifetime Lime rides this year, making it one of the highest ridership Lime cities in the entire world. Lime credits the city for investing in biking infrastructure and supporting its micromobility program, working with operators to improve every year, for the incredible ridership.
“Thank you to all of our riders in D.C. who made 2024 the best year we’ve ever had and to the city and the District Department of Transportation for working with us to try and build the best possible program for the District. D.C. is truly becoming a model city for micromobility to be studied around the world, with investments in bike lanes and bike parking supporting unbelievable growth in two-wheeled transportation. As ridership has boomed, we have remained focused on equitable service for the entire city, especially east of the Anacostia River, and on safe riding and proper parking. We are excited to aim even higher in 2025,” said Erika Duthely, Director of Government Relations at Lime.
Lime has invested heavily in its hardware, staff, and operations in DC in order to provide riders with their choice of vehicle, have it ready when they need it, and maintain tidy streets as much as possible. Lime continues to communicate regularly with its riders on how to ride safely and park properly, and is doubling down on proper parking with a multi-pronged approach to ensure streets remain organized even while ridership skyrockets.
