Norris McLaughlin, P.A. Elevates Michelle L. Scanlon to Member

The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to announce that Michelle L. Scanlon has been elevated to a Member of the firm. She was previously an Associate in the New Jersey office and is part of the firm’s Elder Care & Special Needs Law and Estate Planning and Administration & Wealth Preservation practice groups.

About Michelle L. Scanlon

Scanlon concentrates her practice on assisting individuals and families with a range of complex estate and tax planning issues, serving as a calming resource for clients as they navigate challenging situations in their life. She provides strategic counsel regarding all matters related to estate planning, estate administration, trust administration, special needs planning, long-term care planning and advocacy, fiduciary representation, public benefits, including Medicaid, guardianships, and other elder care related issues. She served as co-chair of the Associate Committee and is a firm mentor for new associates.

Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, P.A. in 2022, Scanlon gained experience working at a high-net-worth boutique estate planning law firm, at an elder law firm, and as a special education attorney. She is a frequent speaker at senior living facilities, hospitals, and support groups and is a regular co-author of the firm’s Elder Care blog, Peace of Mind.

Scanlon received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and worked at the Rutgers Education & Health Law Clinic while attending law school. She is licensed in both New York and New Jersey and is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and serves as the Legislative Coordinator for the Elder and Disability Law Section. She serves as co-chair of the Elder, Estate & Tax Law Committee of the Somerset County Bar Association. Michelle is a member of the Greater Middlesex County/Somerset County Estate Planning Council. She has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in the area of Trusts and Estates for two consecutive years.
