The Erin Levitas Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending sexual violence by providing early education resources for youth, young people, caregivers, and educators, has launched a new question-and-answer portal, Every Body Has Questions, to support and encourage conversations about bodies, boundaries, and safety.
Every Body Has Questions is designed for parents, teachers, and caregivers to access expert guidance in fostering healthy, open conversations with children aged 0-15+. The portal provides tools and resources to help users engage in open, healthy conversations and address sensitive topics, including how to set boundaries and communicate with other parents.
“We’re committed to supporting families and educators in having these important conversations,” said Marissa Jachman, executive director of the Erin Levitas Foundation. “Parenting doesn’t come with a manual. Instead of turning to social media or other online searches, we’re here to help provide a central place to receive expert advice and resources to guide parents and children toward healthy, respectful, and safe relationships.”
Developed in response to parents and caretakers who expressed hesitation in discussing bodies and boundaries due to uncertainty about addressing difficult questions, the portal aims to foster healthy communication and strengthen parent-child relationships. By equipping caregivers with expert perspectives and resources, it encourages proactive and meaningful discussions, even for those who may not have had similar conversations growing up.
Questions submitted through the portal are answered by leading experts in the fields of education, therapy, law, and social work. Contributors include:
- Chimi Boyd-Keyes: Intersectional and anti-oppression expert
- Laurie Graham, MSW, PhD: Professor of social work
- Quince Hopkins, JD, LL.M, JSD: Gender violence and restorative justice expert
- Dr. Wendy Gwirtzman Lane, MD, MPH, FAAP, FACPM: University of Maryland School of Medicine, Center for Hope
- Debbie Roffman: Human sexuality educator, consultant, and author
- Malia Segal, LCSW-MJ, RPT: Children’s therapist
“We often turn to friends and group chats for advice on big topics—this portal offers the same kind of support, but with expert guidance to help answer questions and point caregivers in the right direction,” added Laurie Graham, MSW, PhD, professor of social work at University of Maryland School of Social Work.
The portal provides general information and resources aimed at preventing sexual violence but is not intended as medical advice. For specific concerns, users are encouraged to consult licensed professionals.
