Armada Hoffler today announces that private membership club The Gathering Spot will open a new location, Retreat at The Gathering Spot, on the rooftop of The Interlock in West Midtown, occupying 38,000 square feet and an additional 20,000 square feet of office. The community gathering hub is expanding from its location off of North Avenue and will open in the summer of 2025.
“The Gathering Spot has always been a space where meaningful connections and bold ideas come to life,” said Ryan Wilson, Co-Founder and CEO of The Gathering Spot. “With Retreat at The Gathering Spot, we’re expanding that vision—not only providing a dynamic environment for business meetings and networking but also creating a respite from the day-to-day. This space is designed for both productivity and relaxation, where members can seamlessly transition from closing deals to unwinding with friends, engaging in wellness experiences, and enjoying a social retreat that recharges and inspires.”
The Gathering Spot was founded in 2016 in Atlanta by Ryan Wilson and TK Petersen as a private club where creative thinkers in all industries and from all backgrounds can gather to discuss bold ideas, grow their business and expand personal relationships. The membership-only club has since expanded to Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles with approximately 12,000 members nationwide. The Gathering Spot is the largest Black-owned community in the United States.
“The Gathering Spot is deeply rooted in Atlanta culture, serving as a community gathering place for innovators and creatives,” said Shawn Tibbetts, CEO and President of Armada Hoffler. “In the heart of Atlanta’s tech hub, The Interlock provides the perfect location for its new chapter. Members will enjoy being part of this mixed-use community, with access to best-in-class entertainment, restaurant and retail concepts as an added benefit to their memberships.”
Retreat at The Gathering Spot will be a first-of-its-kind location for The Gathering Spot and will feature similar membership perks, including two full-service restaurants, flexible workspaces, skill workshops, member events and more. Retreat at The Gathering Spot will also now include a rooftop pool with far-reaching views of Midtown and multiple spaces for private events of all sizes. Membership to Retreat will be by invitation only and candidates must be a member of The Gathering Spot first to be considered. Those interested in joining can apply via The Gathering Spot website here.
The Gathering Spot joins The Interlock’s wide variety of notable tenants, including the first Puttshack in the nation, the 161-room Bellyard, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel and 200,000 square feet of technology-infused office space, including Encore, a 50,000-square-foot incubator space by Georgia Tech.
