Q&A with Anahata Sabat, Founder of Plant Magic Bottle Shop

Plant Magic Bottle Shop, under the Distill + Express umbrella, serves clean, delicious and functional mocktails crafted with euphorics, nootropics, and adaptogens – so you feel a buzz, without the hangover. Ingredients include things like ashwagandha, lion’s mane, reishi, and CBD. Unlike other nonalcoholic bars and destinations, Anahata made a pact to only offer beverages made without sodium benzoate, a chemical ingredient used in processed beverages to extend shelf life.

Anahata’s healing journey began when she turned to essential oils to help her naturally deliver a healthy, baby girl. Since then, Anahata has become an early identifier of long-range global trends, a trailblazer in the wellness industry and biohacking space, and a sober curious coach, thought leader and mentor. Notably, she developed the first spiritual wellness community for the sober curious, High Vibe Women, which provides the opportunity for Spiritual Entrepreneurs to connect in community with zero-proof beverages and network with a healthy lifestyle.

How did your career journey inform the decisions you made in creating Plant Magic Bottle Shop?

Plant Magic was an opportunity that manifested in my life at the start of November 2024. My mentor said, you have been doing so many pop ups, why don’t you open a shop. The opportunity at Union Market felt like it just fell into my lap. I’m a conscious parenting coach and reiki master — I wasn’t planning on opening a shop. Sometimes, when you have a calling or a mission, things fall into place quickly and all the right doors open. Because I have been an entrepreneur for four years, I had the confidence to take on something I had never done before. Entrepreneurs are always up for adventure. We know that the opportunity is what we make of it.

What has the response been since you opened in Union Market?

The response has been amazing. I thought that opening in Dry January would be a way to support people along their journey. Well it turns out there are so many people that have stopped drinking alcohol or are trying to cut back. It’s heartwarming to see how many people are picking up on this trend.

What’s next for you?

The next step for us is to expand into restaurants. Providing the consumer with another touchpoint for the option of non-alcoholic beverages is key. When out on the town, non-drinkers want the opportunity to celebrate and “cheers” without the alcohol.

Anything else to add?

The story that we like to share inside of the shop with our clients is that they are worthy and good enough. They don’t need alcohol or anything outside themselves to be validated. We like to chat about wellness, personal development and how to become our best selves.
