The YMCA of South Florida’s is proud to welcome Dr. Marcelo L. Martinez, Regional Executive Vice President and General Manager of Hotwire Communications for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
A resident of Coral Springs, Dr. Martinez oversees a team of 75 people and is responsible for the growth of Hotwire Communications in the South Florida region. He joined the company in 2020 as Senior Director of Account Management for Southeast Florida and held two other positions before being promoted to his current position in 2023.
“Marcelo is an extraordinary leader,” said Sheryl A. Woods, CEO of the YMCA of South Florida. “His leadership, insights and business acumen will be an asset to the Y as we continue to strengthen our local communities.”
Previously, Dr. Martinez served for nearly eight years as Regional Director of FirstService Residential Florida in Hollywood. Martinez has served as a board member for several organizations, including the Community Association Institute Southeast Florida Chapter, Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce, Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce and EmpowHERto. He earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from Rollins College, an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from University of Miami.
