As credit card debt continues to rise, fueled by inflation and high interest rates, the personal-finance website WalletHub has published an updated report on the Cities With the Most Credit Cards, to highlight areas that may face greater financial vulnerability this year.

To identify the cities with the fastest-growing credit card ownership, WalletHub analyzed its latest consumer-finance data based on four key metrics. These included the average number of cards owned per person, the average number of new cards opened per person in Q4 2024, and the percentage change in both from Q4 2023.
