citybiz+ Perfect Closes on $23 Million to Build ‘Superhuman’ Recruiter

New York-based Perfect, a startup with roots in Israel, has raised $23 million in seed funding as it bids to build what it dubs as the first “superhuman” recruiter — a euphemism for a so-called AI agent that could speed up hiring and enhance the quality of the hires.

The funding was in two tranches, with the latest round being led by Hanaco Ventures, with participation from Joule Ventures, both of which are U.S.-Israeli funds, and Samsung Electronics‘ former president, Young Sohn. TechCrunch said the seed round’s first tranche of $12 million came a year ago from United Kingdom’s Target Global and RTP Global, Israel’s Pitango and others.

“Excited to share that Perfect has raised $23M to build the world’s first non human recruiter, in simple terms we make recruiters 10X better!” Eylon Etshtein, CEO and co-founder of Perfect, said in a LinkedIn post. “Recruitment is broken. Hiring teams wasting time on manual tasks, and struggling to find the right talent. We’re here to change that.”

Perfect’s AI agent helps recruiters delegate “tedious, repetitive tasks, freeing up their time to engage meaningfully with candidates and make smarter hiring decisions,” said Etshtein, previously the co-founder of SightX.AI and facial recognition company AnyVision.

Etshtein told TechCrunch in an interview that he came up with the idea for Perfect when dealing with knotty HR issues at AnyVision. Perfect’s co-founder Ronen Daniel, who serves as the startup’s vice president for Operations & People, and Recruitment Expert, has a degree in law.

“Our goal is not to replace humans but to make them superhuman,” Etshtein said. “With unfilled roles costing businesses an average of $500 per day per vacancy, adopting faster and more accurate recruitment solutions is essential. Perfect is setting this standard.” Etshtein claimed Perfect is the only so-called agentic system in recruitment — “an AI-powered co-pilot that doesn’t just assist but acts.”
