BankUnited Inc. (NYSE: BKU) announced it has named Matthew Buggenhagen and Jason Labriola to senior vice president, senior commercial banking relationship manager roles with its New York commercial banking team. Both Buggenhagen and Labriola each have nearly 20 years of banking experience and will be responsible for developing and managing commercial client relationships.

Prior to recently joining BankUnited, Buggenhagen was managing director and co-head of a team of originators and underwriters for Meridian Capital Group in New York, NY. Previous to Meridian Capital Group, he was group head and regional vice president of TD Bank Commercial Banking in Brooklyn, managing a team of commercial and small business bankers and overseeing a loan portfolio of $2 billion. The Bellmore resident earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He previously held a board member position with the Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York. He also served on the board of Horizons at Brooklyn Friends School.
Prior to recently joining BankUnited, Labriola co-managed a team of originators and underwriters for Meridian Capital Group. Previous to Meridian Capital Group, he worked in a TD Bank Commercial Banking Group in Brooklyn, managing an $800 million loan portfolio. A Manhasset resident, Labriola earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY, Old Westbury. He’s in the process of joining the NY Alliance.
