
Freed, a San Francisco, CA-based AI clinician assistant for medical documentation, raised $30M in Series A funding.
The round, which brought total funding to $34m, was led by Sequoia Capital with participation from Scale Venture Partners, Daniel Gross, Gokul Rajaram, and Ted Zagat.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by CEO Erez Druk, and CTO Andrey Bannikov, Freed is an AI clinician assistant designed to eliminate the burdens of medical documentation, giving clinicians their time back and helping them lead more balanced, fulfilling professional lives. Built with a clinician-first approach, it uses AI to automate note writing, streamline EHR workflows, and reduce burnout. By minimizing time spent on documentation, the company enables clinicians to reclaim personal time, reduce stress, and deliver more efficient patient care.
Alongside the funding announcement, Freed is launching new AI-powered and other advanced features that extend its capabilities beyond note writing, accelerating its evolution into a comprehensive AI clinician assistant. These include:

- Custom Template Builder: Personalized documentation that adapts to each clinician’s preferences.
- Pre-Charting: AI-generated patient summaries and follow-ups to prepare clinicians before patient visits.
- EHR Integration via Browser Extension: Integrates Freed’s AI assistant into existing clinical workflows.
