Gravity Hits 40K Charging Sessions in 1st Year, with Top Speeds for Hummers, Cybertucks

First Year of Operations Shows Pent-Up Demand for 500kW Distributed Energy Access Points That Can be Easily Installed in All Places Vehicles Van Park

Gravity, the only OEM independent, EVSE hardware and software developer and site operator, surpassed 40,000 charging sessions in the first year of operations at its flagship Midtown Manhattan EV charging center. Gravity offers major property, garage and fleet owners a vastly different product from the rest of the industry: high-speed and high-reliability equipment, compact chargers to fit any indoor or outdoor site without loss of space, and the ability to manage energy in real time, eliminating the need for costly upgrades and lowering total energy costs.

Since opening in March 2024 as the fastest charging experience anywhere in America, Gravity’s indoor site at 401 West 42nd Street has broken charging speed records across vehicle makes and models. The site has charged Tesla Cybertrucks at 289kW, Cadillac Escalade IQs at 369kW, and

GMC Hummers at 374kW.

In its first year, the Gravity Charging Center has achieved:

  • Fastest Speeds: Gravity’s UL-certified 500kW equipment is capable of charging at a rate of 2,400 miles per hour, equivalent to 200 miles of range in just five minutes.
  • High Utilization: Equipment is averaging 40% utilization and has become the go-to choice for time-sensitive users including Uber, Lyft and NYC taxi drivers who need to minimize downtime for charging.
  • Customer Choice: The highest Google-rated charging in NYC (4.8/5 with 191 5-star reviews). Gravity’s customer experience is more convenient and less expensive than a conventional gas station.
  • Maximum Uptime: As a full-stack hardware and software company, Gravity equipment surpasses competitors in reliability, with 100% site-level uptime.

“Gravity’s promise is simple: we provide an EV charging experience that’s as fast, easy and reliable and more convenient than pumping gas. That shouldn’t be revolutionary—it’s the minimum required to get companies and ordinary people to embrace EVs as viable. And the response we’ve gotten has been extraordinary,” said Moshe Cohen, founder and CEO of Gravity Inc. “The data now shows that technology and innovation matter. Consumers are choosing Gravity for charging that is orders of magnitude faster and significantly more reliable than all other market solutions. Last year, our primary focus was on reliability. This year, it will be scaling across the country with DEAPs that turn EVs into a network of distributed storage to accelerate the transition to an abundant, resilient and clean grid of the future.”

What’s Next for Gravity:

  • Certified by UL Solutions and backed by GV (Google Ventures), Gravity’s complete line of 500kW Distributed Energy Access Points (DEAPs) attracted immediate industry attention. Gravity currently has 20 sites in development for 2025 across the US with major real estate firms, retail businesses and fleet logistics operators.
  • Gravity has the capacity to manufacture and deploy thousands of chargers per year to sites that it operates.
  • Gravity’s DEAPs have been engineered as bidirectional-ready, and certification of this feature is now underway to enable large-scale application. DEAPs directly interface with other sources and uses of power and augment electrical grids, flexibly stabilizing and allocating power to prevent costly new demand spikes, especially as the grid transitions to intermittent renewable energy.
  • Curbside Deployments: Gravity is engaging with cities across the country to bring DEAP speed to the curb, where drivers can charge in minutes everywhere they park.
