Event co-emceed by actor, comedian and retired Marine Rob Riggle
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF), a national nonprofit providing post-secondary education scholarships to the children of Marines, today announced that its annual “Patriots at Pebble” fundraiser held at Pebble Beach Golf Links® raised over $1.6 million. The multi-day event, which sold-out for the 2nd consecutive year, included a dinner co-emceed by actor and comedian, Lieutenant Colonel Rob Riggle USMC (Ret.).
Held Saturday, March 1, through Monday, March 3, the celebration began with a reception at the Hay Golf Course. Sunday evening was dedicated to the Eagle, Globe & Anchor Awards Dinner, honoring individuals and companies that have significantly impacted the lives of Marines and their families. Among the guests were Marine families, supporters, and Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.
Meyer served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he risked his life to save fellow service members, becoming the first living Marine in over 40 years to receive the nation’s highest military honor. During the event, Meyer highlighted the “If You Can, You Must” Scholarship, which was launched in partnership with MCSF in November 2024 to provide children of Marines with access to higher education and career training. Over $600,000 was raised toward Meyer’s goal of $2 million for the scholarship fund.
The weekend culminated on Monday at the Pebble Beach Golf Links®, with the Toyota Commandant’s Cup Golf Tournament. Golfers included Riggle, Meyer, other veterans, and VIPs from around the country.
“The success of ‘Patriots at Pebble’ is a testament to the incredible generosity and commitment of our supporters,” said Ted Probert, current President and CEO for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. “Thanks to their dedication, we are able to provide educational opportunities that transform the lives of children of Marines, ensuring they have the tools to achieve their dreams. This event reinforces our mission to honor the sacrifices of military families by supporting the next generation of leaders and scholars.”
MCSF’s mission is to honor Marines by providing scholarships for their children attending post-high school, undergraduate, and career and technical education programs. For the 2024-2025 academic year, MCSF awarded $11.7 million in scholarships to almost 3,000 children of Marines nationwide — the largest number of scholarships and highest dollar amount ever awarded in one year in its more than 60-year history.
