Primetime Opening in College Park

Latest restaurant concept from George Martin Group will offer steak, seafood, sprits and sports beginning March 27 

On Thursday, March 27, College Park will be adding PrimeTime, an upscale sports-themed restaurant from the George Martin Group, as part of the latest developments along Route 1. Featuring USDA Certified Prime steaks, fresh seafood, and elevated American classics, PrimeTime blends a vintage sports atmosphere with a refined dining experience.

Located on the ground floor of the Cambria Hotel, at 8321 Baltimore Avenue, the restaurant is designed to capture the essence of sports with an artistic approach to its history.

PrimeTime offers upscale Americana food and spirits with an ambience rooted in nostalgia. The restaurant caters to individuals and groups of all sizes, offering a comforting menu with rich American flavors curated by Executive Chef Frank Greco. With a diverse selection of hand-cut premium steaks, fresh seafood, and hearty entrees, PrimeTime is positioned to be College Park’s go-to destination for elevated comfort food. The space includes a large central dining room, an intimate lounge near the main lobby, a lively bar with multiple TVs for sports viewing, and a formal dining area ideal for special occasions such as birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, business meetings, or cozy dinners.

“With its close proximity to campus and administrative buildings, this space is designed to welcome a wide range of customers. We want to offer an accessible and inviting space for everyone, from families visiting students to College Park locals looking for an upscale dining experience,” said George Korten, President of the George Martin Group. “This will be a prime spot for University of Maryland faculty and staff, as well as those who work in College Park, to hold business meetings and enjoy a quality meal. And for Terps, we’re excited to create a go-to restaurant where friends can gather over great food.”

PrimeTime will be led by General Manager Giavanna Trop, who has spent a decade with the George Martin Group. Starting as a hostess, she worked her way up through various roles, driven by a passion for hospitality. Inspired by the vision for PrimeTime, she relocated to College Park to create a welcoming dining experience rooted in community.

“We are excited to bring a new destination to College Park – whether it’s for a game day, a casual night out with friends, or a family gathering,” said Trop. “We can’t wait to offer a new hub for Terps to dine and celebrate together!”

PrimeTime’s menus are a tribute to high-quality steaks, fresh seafood, and modern twists on classic American fare. The steak selection features hand-cut USDA Prime steaks, including the signature 8oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon, the 14oz Boneless Ribeye, and the French Onion Filet Mignon, topped with gruyere and a sherry beef jus. Guests can customize their steak with indulgent additions like bacon-wrapped shrimp, Oscar-style toppings, and house-made steak sauces.

Seafood lovers will find a selection of fresh, flavorful dishes, including jumbo lump crab cakes, sesame-crusted ahi tuna, and miso honey-glazed salmon. Other standouts include the artichoke crab dip, charbroiled Chesapeake oysters, and lobster mac & cheese.

PrimeTime will open initially for dinner service from 3:00-10:00 p.m. seven days a week with happy hour specials from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Breakfast, brunch and lunch services will be added in the coming months.
