
Nicholas Steege has been appointed to be the new General Manager of The Center Club in downtown Baltimore.
Steege has been serving as Interim General Manager following the retirement of Kevin Bonner in January. The club’s Assistant General Manager before that, he was recommended for the top position by its Search Committee.
Located on the 15th and 16th floors of 100 Light Street, the Center Club was established in 1962 as a private club where business and community leaders from Baltimore and surrounding counties, regardless of race and religion, could come together regularly to address issues of the day and enjoy fine dining. It was formed at a time when other private clubs in the city didn’t accept African-American or Jewish applicants.
