Walk Like MADD 5K in Temecula Unites Community to End Impaired Driving and Support Victims

Every step taken at the upcoming Walk Like MADD 5K in Temecula, California, is a step toward a future where no one has to lose a loved one to impaired driving. On Saturday, March 29, 2025, community members—including survivors, families, law enforcement, and advocates—will come together at Linfield Christian School for a powerful morning of remembrance, hope, and action.

Impaired driving is a public safety crisis in California, claiming 1,479 lives in 2022 alone and making up more than one-third of all traffic deaths in California. Nationwide, the problem has worsened—fatalities from impaired driving have surged 33% since 2019. The Walk Like MADD 5K serves as a powerful reminder that behind these numbers are real people—parents, children, friends, and neighbors—whose lives have been forever changed.

The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m., and it’s more than just a 5K—it’s a movement. As participants walk, they’ll honor those lost, support those healing, and demonstrate the power of community to create meaningful change. Personal stories of strength, survival, and resilience will echo throughout the event, reminding everyone that together, we can make a difference.

Funds raised at Walk Like MADD directly support Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and its free, 24/7 victim services. These services offer vital assistance to those affected by impaired driving, including emotional support, help navigating the criminal and civil justice systems, court accompaniment, guidance with crime victim compensation and connections to support groups and other resources. This support is available to victims and their families at no cost, thanks to the generosity of participants and donors.

Walk Like MADD is one of MADD’s most impactful nationwide fundraising campaigns. In 2024, Walk Like MADD events raised nearly $4 million to support victims, educate communities, and advocate for stronger impaired driving laws. In California, 90% of all Walk Like MADD events exceeded their fundraising goals, and the Temecula event is poised to continue that momentum—bringing together the community to take a stand and make a difference.

The event is open to the public, and registration is still available at walklikemadd.org.

Walk Like MADD Temecula is a celebration of community strength, compassion, and shared purpose. It’s a chance to honor lives lost, uplift those still healing, and come together around a common goal: ending impaired driving for good.
