ZERO Prostate Cancer Appoints New Powerhouse Members to Board of Directors

ZERO Prostate Cancer, the nation’s leading prostate cancer organization dedicated to improving and saving lives through advocacy, awareness, education, and support, is proud to announce the appointment of five new influential voices and thought leaders to its Board of Directors.

These visionaries—Lance FrankWalt FryeAllan HoustonMathew Knowles, and Shawn Olds—bring unparalleled expertise and impact from music, sports, media, entertainment, corporate leadership, and technology. Their leadership ushers in powerful voices and influence that will help advance ZERO’s mission and vision to eliminate barriers to early detection and ensure high-quality care is accessible to all.

For nearly 30 years, ZERO has been at the forefront of the battle against prostate cancer, providing essential resources, programs, services, and support to patients and families affected by this devastating disease. Just last month, ZERO launched the most ambitious prostate cancer initiative in U.S. history—Blitz The Barriers—with a goal of saving 100,000 lives by 2035.

“Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men, a grim reality that is too big to ignore,” said Courtney Bugler, President and CEO of ZERO Prostate Cancer. “The disease disproportionately affects vulnerable communities, especially Veterans and Active-Duty Military personnel, who are twice as likely to be diagnosed with the disease, and Black men, who are 70% more likely to develop prostate cancer and twice as likely to die from it. Stigma, mistrust, and a lack of resources contribute to these life-threatening disparities. Bringing these powerful voices to our cause with their deep personal connections will help change the trajectory of this disease.”

Mobilizing Change in the Fight Against Prostate Cancer

Every 15 minutes in the U.S., a man dies of prostate cancer. There are over 3 million men living with prostate cancer in America. In 2025 alone, over 300,000 men will be diagnosed with the disease, and more than 35,000 will lose their lives—fathers, uncles, brothers, and sons, gone too soon.

With so many lives at stake, ZERO is on a critical mission to revolutionize the landscape of prostate cancer. “With our new Board Members, we are well positioned and well on our way to changing these gut-wrenching statistics and fostering a future where early detection is standard, vital resources are within reach for everyone, and no one has to face prostate cancer alone,” said Bugler.
