Halifax Group, a middle market private equity firm that partners with management to invest in market-leading companies, today announced that it has engaged Howard C. Miller as an Operating Executive. Mr. Miller will help the firm evaluate investment opportunities in the healthcare sector, assist in the implementation of new strategies for select Halifax portfolio companies, and provide mentorship to executive teams.
Mr. Miller joins Halifax after a 30+ year career in healthcare and life sciences. Most recently, he served as CEO of Envision Pharma Group, a leading global technology-enabled strategic solutions partner for the life sciences industry. Prior to that, he spent almost 18 years at Two Labs Pharma Consulting, where he was a Founding Partner and later became CEO until the company’s acquisition by Envision. Earlier, Mr. Miller worked for Cardinal Health, serving as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for four of its technology companies, and with Abbott Laboratories and Novavax in a variety of sales and marketing roles. He holds a B.S. in Finance & Marketing from Butler University’s Lacy School of Business.
Scott Plumridge, Halifax Managing Partner, said, “When we first met Howard close to ten years ago, we immediately knew he was someone who we wanted to have on our team at Halifax. While he’s been occupied leading high-growth businesses since our first encounter, we’ve maintained a consistent dialogue that has enabled us to witness his business acumen in action. We’re grateful to finally have the opportunity to add Howard and his many years of experience to our Operating Executive team.”
Mr. Miller commented, “It is a delight to join the Halifax team. They share my interest in fostering a people-first philosophy focused on employee engagement, client interaction and patient care. With that as a guiding principle, I look forward to helping develop new pathways for growth across the Halifax portfolio.”
