KLNB, the Mid-Atlantic region’s largest privately held CRE brokerage firm, is excited to announce the addition of two new brokers to the firm’s renowned retail division. Jeff Bach and Joe Botzler come to KLNB from JLL, bringing a wealth of experience in regional and national tenant representation and leasing. Both will focus on the greater Baltimore region and will be based out of KLNB’s offices in Towson, Maryland.
“Simply put, Joe and Jeff are a perfect fit for KLNB,” says KLNB President Marc Menick. “It’s rare to find a duo like them, who bring such extensive experience across various aspects of our business while seamlessly blending into our culture. From our very first conversation, it was evident that this partnership made perfect sense, and there was never a need to persuade one another. I have no doubt that they will be valuable members of our team for years to come.”
Jeff Bach brings 35 years of experience specializing in both agency leasing and tenant representation, with a focus on local and national markets. His extensive experience spans leasing, sales, and consulting services for shopping centers, lifestyle centers, urban retail, and ground-up development projects. Bach comes to KLNB after being with JLL since 2017, prior to which he spent 27 years at CBRE, working with a wide range of tenants and landlords throughout his career.
Bach chose to join KLNB because of the firm’s strong culture, team approach, and industry leadership.
“Throughout my career, KLNB has always been a standout in the industry,” he says. “They’re known for representing the highest quality tenants and landlords. I’ve been able to foster strong relationships with many KLNB retail brokers, and every interaction further cemented the firm’s reputation as leaders in the business and for having terrific people.”
Joe Botzler also specializes in regional and national tenant representation services, offering nearly 15 years of expertise in market analysis, site selection, lease negotiation, renewals, terminations, and retail consulting. Over the course of his career, he has built a proven track record in supporting retailers with multi-market expansions. Botzler also works closely with both private and institutional owners to accomplish their retail leasing and merchandising goals.
Like Bach, Botzler says the decision to join KLNB was based on years of positive interaction with the firm’s brokers and seeing the impact KLNB has made on the market.
“I have longstanding relationships with many KLNB professionals and have an admiration for the company’s culture of being hard working, collaborative, and entrepreneurial,” says Botzler. “After spending almost 15 years at CBRE and JLL, I have come to recognize KLNB as the best in the industry. They’ve transformed the local retail real estate landscape and consistently represent outstanding clients in the marketplace.”
Both Botzler and Bach agree that Baltimore’s retail market has remained robust, with vacancy rates at historic lows, and land prices reaching all-time highs. Limited new construction has allowed landlords to experience consistent rent growth without needing to offer substantial rent incentives to emerging or relocating tenants. Even in the event of bankruptcies, vacant spaces are swiftly filled, typically by creditworthy tenants.
