Sedron Appoints Dave Galey as VP of Project Delivery and Mike Formaini as VP of HSE

Industry Veterans Dave Galey and Mike Formaini Join to Drive Project Excellence and Safety Innovation.

Sedron, a leader in advanced water and waste upcycling solutions, today announces the addition of two accomplished leaders to its executive team: Dave Galey as Vice President of Project Delivery and Mike Formaini as Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).

Galey joins Sedron with over 15 years of experience managing complex, multibillion-dollar capital projects in the energy and manufacturing sectors. Most recently a Senior Project Director at Ørsted, he led the development and execution of the Star e-Methanol project, integrating carbon capture, renewable hydrogen, and methanol synthesis with over 1 GW of onshore wind and solar energy developments.

His career at ExxonMobil spanned nearly 15 years, where he held roles such as Commissioning and Startup Manager for the Golden Pass LNG Export Project and Turnaround Manager for the Joliet Refinery, delivering a record-setting reliability performance post-shutdown. Galey holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has completed advanced leadership programs at Thunderbird School of Global Management and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“We’re thrilled to have Dave on the Sedron team,” said Mackenzie Reider, Chief People Officer of Sedron Technologies. “His extensive expertise in project management and execution across energy and infrastructure are game-changing as we scale our operations and deliver transformative solutions to our clients.”

Formaini brings four decades of HSE leadership experience to Sedron, with a proven record of enhancing safety culture and environmental performance across diverse industries. Previously, as Director of EHS & Workforce Development at Duquesne Light Company, he spearheaded enterprise-wide safety and training initiatives, focusing the organization on serious injury and fatality (SIF) prevention and building a top-tier EHS team.

At GE Transportation (now Wabtec), Formaini spent over 15 years in progressive EHS roles, leading a 5,500-employee manufacturing site to OSHA VPP Star status and transforming its environmental performance. A Certified Safety Professional (CSP), he holds a Bachelor of Science in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Penn State University.

“Mike’s all about people and safety, and that’s exactly what makes him such a fantastic addition to our team added Reider. “With his leadership, we’re set to keep our projects not just top-notch, but also safe and sustainable every step of the way.”

These hires coincide with the recent appointment of Matt Parsons as Chief Operating Officer, reflecting Sedron’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its leadership with top talent. Galey and Formaini will play pivotal roles in advancing Sedron’s mission to revolutionize waste management and resource recovery worldwide.
