Baltimore-based CloudQix, which runs a so-called no-code IPaaS, or Integration-Platform-as-a-Service, has closed on $3 million led by local firm GRI Ventures, with participation from Washington-based DMV Angel Group and others.
Founded by SalesWarp founder and CEO David Potts, CloudQix says its platform will help organizations integrate with other technology services without the need for coding, bring considerable savings in time and cost.
“CloudQix was born from the integration challenges and associated costs at SalesWarp. We built a much better way to handle client integrations, reduce cost and launch new projects faster,” Potts told Citybiz, adding that “existing solutions were either too light or much too expensive.”
After SalesWarp developed the tools, the company discovered that clients starting using it for more integration work outside of traditional SalesWarp role and also to speed AI adoption, said Potts, who continues to run the order management software firm SalesWarp. Consequently, “we tooled it up for general market use with version 2 that is launching now,” he added.
Public Launch in Q2
CloudQix, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of SalesWarp, said it would use the funds to also support SalesWarp portfolio, including the upcoming launch of SalesWarp Ship, a shipping and logistics module to enhance capabilities of its commerce operations platform. CloudQix’s platform itself is in early access with select clients, with a public launch scheduled for the second quarter.
Potts received an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1993. He began his career in 1990 at Texas Instruments, serving as worldwide director of Wireless Applications. He later worked at SafeNet as executive vice president, before founding SalesWarp in 2010.
