Miles & Stockbridge to Relocate Suburban Washington Office to Vibrant Pike & Rose Neighborhood in North Bethesda

Move comes at a time of substantial and anticipated growth for the law firm in Greater Washington and along the East Coast

Miles & Stockbridge, an Am Law 200 firm with more than 200 lawyers and offices in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia and New York, has taken another step in its commitment to the metropolitan Washington market by announcing today that it will relocate its Montgomery County, Maryland, office from Rockville to the vibrant Pike & Rose neighborhood in North Bethesda in the fall. The firm is moving to 915 Meeting Street with nearly 7,000 square feet of office space on the building’s 11th floor.

The move comes at a time of substantial and anticipated growth for Miles & Stockbridge in Greater Washington and along the East Coast on the heels of the firm’s December 2024 merger with D.C. real estate finance firm Krooth & Altman, May 2024 expansion into New York with the opening of a Midtown Manhattan office and 2023 growth news in Richmond, Virginia.

“With our recent merger, approximately half of the firm’s lawyers now work in the D.C. Metro area,” said Nancy Greene, chairman, president and CEO. “We have worked across the region for decades—first opening a Rockville office in 1982, a Tysons office in 1995 and a Washington office in 2010 to be near our clients and to support their interests—and that commitment remains as strong as ever as we focus on growing here even more. Opening a North Bethesda office is a great extension of our presence and commitment to clients across the DMV.”

Approximately 110 lawyers and 170 total employees work in the firm’s Greater Washington offices. Miles & Stockbridge lawyers across the region help clients in real estate, finance, litigation, corporate, government contracts and intellectual property matters. Within these practices our lawyers have deep experience in real estate finance, public finance, mergers and acquisitions, bid protests, white collar compliance and representation, education, Consumer Product Safety Commission matters, insurance recovery and estate planning, as well as high-net-worth divorce and Hague Convention matters.

The firm also has a sophisticated land use and zoning team representing landowners, developers and builders in real estate acquisition, development and construction matters involving planning, zoning, entitlements, permitting and historic preservation. They represent such clients before administrative boards and agencies, legislative bodies and state and federal courts. This includes working extensively with Montgomery County and the municipalities of Rockville and Gaithersburg.

“We looked at many spaces and quickly realized that the Pike & Rose neighborhood was a great choice for our client relationships and colleagues across the region, as well as our efforts to recruit lawyers and other professionals,” said Bradford S. Bernstein, managing principal of the Rockville office. “It is a vibrant and exciting location, close to I-270, I-495 and the North Bethesda Metro Station. Our office space and building are designed to support the way we work today, featuring numerous amenities such as a rooftop conference center with collaborative common areas, seamless digital connectivity a fitness center and numerous restaurants.”
