The Arc Baltimore has honored Joseph P. Ward, Esq., a Principal at Baltimore law firm Miles & Stockbridge, naming him Director Emeritus.
Presented during The Arc’s recent Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony, the Director Emeritus honor is the equivalent to the Hall of Fame for Arc Baltimore Board of Director service. Conferred upon members after they conclude active Board service, the Director Emeritus recognition is not automatic, but rather is an individual and specific designation reserved for retiring members whose service has been substantial and longstanding.
“As a past Board President, Joe Ward has served more than his share of years,” says The Arc’s Chief Executive Officer, Kathleen McNally Durkin. “He came on the board in 2008. For the last eight years, he has been an officer – Secretary, Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President. He has given generously of his time and talent and we are thankful he will continue his commitment now – though with much less demand of his time – as Director Emeritus.
At Miles & Stockbridge, Ward represents businesses, business owners, and equity investors in a variety of corporate and securities matters.
The Arc Baltimore’s 2021 Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony featured the election of the organization’s new board of directors and officers, and award recognitions for those who have gone above and beyond in their service to The Arc Baltimore.
“The hard work and dedication of all of our award recipients and nominees, and so many others, is the critical component which enables The Arc Baltimore to support people with developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships,” notes Durkin.
