What/Who:
CityPlace Doral has partnered with Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM) to offer guests and the local community arts and cultural initiatives at the center throughout the spring and summer.
To kick off the spring/summer 2021 programming, CityPlace Doral will be presenting its first-ever art and fashion event on Thursday, June 3, in partnership with DORCAM, “Fashion Art Design.” The event will feature runway looks by Cuban costume designer Celia Ledón and inspired by Manolo Valdés The Legacy, which celebrates the Spanish artist whose larger-than-life sculptures are placed throughout the City of Doral.
In addition to “Fashion Art Design,” the spring/summer 2021 programming will include:
- Miquel Salom-Fulgor Photography Exhibition – May 21 – June 30, 2021 – Spanish artist Miquel Salom’s photography depicting the monumental sculptures of painter and sculptor Manolo Valdés will be on display. Salom’s photographs use the Wet Plate Collodion technique to document the sculptures installed throughout the City of Doral, including at CityPlace Doral, and in tribute to one of the most internationally celebrated contemporary artists.
- EDO POP Next Level – June 4 – June 30, 2021 – Venezuelan artist Eduardo Sanabria, best known as EDO, will present a large selection of his 2D and 3D Pop Art. He uses diverse color palettes and new media to bring his works of art to life. EDO, who has won numerous awards for his work with plastic arts and graphics humourism, has been widely exhibited, including in Miami, FL; Chicago, IL; Las Vegas, NV; and globally in metropolitan cities including Caracas, Milan, Seoul and Shanghai. There will be a Grand Opening on Friday, June 4, from 5-9 p.m. that is free and open to the public.
- Loyola Arts and Elementary Student Art Display – June 5 – June 30, 2021 – Students from Doral school, Loyola Elementary, will showcase their artworks during a month-long exhibition.
“Our neighborhood exhibits and pop-ups at CityPlace Doral this spring and summer are perfect for the entire family,” says Mauro Olivieri, General Manager at CityPlace Doral. “Through our partnership with Doral Contemporary Art Museum, we continue to bring our guests a sense of community.”
CityPlace Doral has implemented a number of important policies and procedures to safeguard the health and well-being of its valued guests and employees.
