Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that the firm represented Knoll America, Inc., a supplier of conveyor and filtration systems, in the establishment of its U.S. headquarters site in Gaston County, North Carolina.
Knoll America is the U.S. subsidiary of German-based Knoll Maschinenbau GmbH and has announced that it will invest $7.8 million in a 12-acre site at the recently developed Apple Creek Corporate Center. The planned construction is for a 60,000 square foot facility, as well as a new production center, which will include a showroom, a warehouse and a distribution center. The company plans to create more than 30 jobs at the headquarters and to collaborate with Gaston College to set up apprenticeship programs.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Lothar Burger, cited the close proximity to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and seaports in Charleston, Wilmington and Norfolk, Va., among the primary reasons for selecting the Charlotte-area for its U.S. headquarters.
MVA Global Services attorneys Michael (Mike) E. Zeller, Michael C. Tarwater, Jr. and Dr. Livia Daisy Birtalan assisted Knoll America with the transaction.
