DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Faith Investor Services, LLC, a new faith-based exchange-traded fund (“ETF”) issuer, is pleased to announce that investment management industry veteran Mike Skillman has joined the firm and will serve as chief executive officer, overseeing the business strategy and success of its forthcoming ETF family. Mr. Skillman most recently served as CEO of Cadence Capital Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Global Asset Management, the investment management unit of Pacific Life. Over the last three decades, Skillman has amassed a wealth of asset management experience that will help him guide FIS.
FIS is a subsidiary of Slate Hill Partners, a venture capital firm focused on building and supporting niche investment managers. Founded by Joe Valdman in 2020, FIS strives to deliver pure-play, faith-based ETFs that allow investors to invest in ways that better align with their religious values and beliefs.
“Speaking on behalf of Slate Hill, as well as our partners and investors, we are incredibly excited to bring in Mike Skillman. I’ve had the privilege of working with Mike before and he has proven to be a great leader and a visionary for innovation,” said Valdman. “We’ve put together an exemplary team with Mike at the helm and look forward to launching our first ETF in the coming weeks.”
“Over my 30 years in the asset and investment management industry, I’ve always sought out opportunities to improve investor experiences and deliver products that make a meaningful impact,” said Skillman. “I look forward to doing just that through FIS with truly purposeful ETFs.”
