
New photography exhibit, limited-edition Black Acres Roastery blend, and introduction of Sole Wash sneaker cleaning and restoration services are a few of the programs launching this month
The award-winning Hotel Revival, a JdV by Hyatt Hotel, will launch several programs and host in-person events this July focused on art and culture through partnerships with various minority- and black-owned organizations.
Photo Exhibit “Awakening” and Artist Talk with DJ Impulse: Wednesday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m.
A collection of photographs taken by newly appointed Director of Content & Sonic Identity DJ Impulse is currently on display on the first, second and top floors of the hotel throughout the month. The collection, titled “Awakening”, features significant moments from Impulse’s life over the past two years and is open to the public to enjoy. Impulse will also be giving an artist talk on Wednesday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the Garden Room to dive deeper into his work. This free event to attend, though there is limited seating. Cash bar available. Merchandise for the show will be available at the hotel’s new Corner Store Gift Shop.
Black Acres Roastery Launch of Impulse Blend
Baltimore’s Black Acres Roastery is launching the exclusive “Impulse Blend” in honor of DJ Impulse’s addition to the Hotel Revival team and his love of coffee. The limited Kenya and Columbia blend will be available for purchase on-property through the Corner Store Gift Shop only beginning mid-month.
Haute House Performances: Thursday, July 15 and 29 at 6:00 p.m.
Hotel Revival will host Haute House performances on July 15 at 6:00 p.m. with local singer/songwriter Joi Carter and another on July 29 at 6:00 p.m. with Like Water. Both events are free with limited seating availability on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Night Brunch: Wednesday, July 21 at 6:00 p.m.
Revival Director of Culture & Impact Jason Bass and Director of Content & Sonic Identity DJ Impulse will host The Night Brunch, which they launched together to celebrate food, music, and friends, at Topside on Wednesday, July 21 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be available beginning Friday, July 9 at 9:00 a.m. through the Night Brunch website.
Corner Store Gift Shop Launch Event: Friday, July 23 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
The hotel’s brand-new Corner Store Gift Shop opened this month, offering travel and houseware products sourced from local and minority- and black-owned businesses and curated by Chiosi of Kiss Tomorrow Hello. Products include bamboo toothbrushes, candles, Hilton Carter books, and prints from the Impulse photo exhibit. The shop, open 24 hours a day, is located in the hotel’s lobby by the front desk. To celebrate the opening, the hotel will host an event on Friday, July 23 featuring a DJ and cocktails from the Intro Lounge. Local author Kondwani Fidel will be signing books purchased from the shop and DJ Impulse will be taking black and white portraits of people as well as signing prints. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Sole Wash Sneaker Cleaning & Restoration Services: Beginning July 24
Following its celebration of women in the sneaker community during Women’s History Month in March, Hotel Revival is partnering with Sole Wash, a small minority-owned sneaker cleaning and restoration service originating in Maryland, to provide in-house shoe cleaning services. Beginning the weekend of July 24 and 25, the public will have the opportunity to get their sneakers cleaned every Saturday or Sunday throughout July for free by signing up via EventBrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sneak-cleaning-kick-off-tickets-161973534201.
These events and programs are a continuation of Hotel Revival’s social impact focus and commitment to being a space that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
